I run on windows 2000. Installed messenger 7 for speed. Now my computer is slower than earlier. Reason? -

The promise of better speed with Windows Messenger 7.0 is not realised after installation. Wish to pass this feedback to Microsoft as I have agreed to take part in their program to feed feedbacks to improve their application:WM7

I haven t had any problems with explorer 7. How much memory do you have on your computer? The more you use the slower your computer gets. You may need to defrag to free up some space or remove unused programs that you have installed.

IE7 is optimized mainly for XP, that s probably why you are experiencing a reduced speed. I would recommend switching back to 6.

I have heard many opinions that Messenger 7.0 is a trouble maker. get rid of it good luck
