Windows 7 (Blackcomb/Vienna/7) is the next operating system up from Windows 6 (Vista/Longhorn/Blackcomb), which is the next operating system up from Windows XP (eXPerience/Whistler). Windows 7 is actually the 8th release of Windows NT, and the 12th release of Windows. Windows 7 is based on it s build number 7000 , the build number is currently 6933 , and about five month ago it was 6589 , so it ll be about half a month until the Windows 7 Pre-Beta, MileStone3, build 7000 , the 7 will represent the major number, that Microsoft will use for its name, however the team at Microsoft says that they might just hold on until the 3rd-30th of June 2008, and during the extra development, the build number might reach Windows 8000 , hence the fact that the name Windows 7 is not yet actually final, they hope to add the new technologies during the open, public betas of Windows 7, and Microsoft hopes that the betas will be public throughout beta-development. If you can t honestly wait, you could try downloading a torrent of the build 6801 . Check out this for features of 6933 : http://www.neowin.net/news/live/08/10/28... 32-Bit 6801 : http://dl.btjunkie.org/torrent/Microsoft... 64-Bit 6801 : http://dl.btjunkie.org/torrent/Microsoft... 6801 SuperBar enabler: http://www.withinwindows.com/2008/11/02/... Please purchase Windows 7 upon release, it ll hopefully please you, and be just as cheap (or cheaper) than Windows Vista.
no one knows and microsoft is not telling if anything it would be an quot;upgrade quot; from vista most likely regardless windows 7 would be so different than xp that you would be better with a clean install It would be highly unlikely by then that your computer would be adequate for windows 7 either in terms of specs and software drivers available don t lose sleep over system 7 yet
Well, its something you will buy in a store or online. It is an upgrade from Vista. Its a new OS version. Your computer will probably be able to use Windows 7. The fact that you use XP doesn t matter, what does matter is if your computer is able to support the OS. (Enough RAM. Enough space on Hard Drive.) You shouldn t worry. I ve heard Windows 7 isn t coming out for 1-2 years.
Windows 7 will be the successor to Windows Vista. Just like Windows Vista was to XP. It ll be able as any other release of Windows has been. It will cost you unless you re a student and your college/university is part of the Microsoft Academic Alliance.
Windows 7 will be an official windows version, so it will be the next version after vista. It will not be free, so you will have to pay full price for it. Just switch to Linux Mint. http://www.linuxmint.com/
You re not going to be able to download it.It will be an OS like XP and Vista,as far as upgrading, that remains to be seen.
