Windows 7 biometric devices? -

i am using the windows 7 beta and have an acer 6920G. the finger print reader shows up under biometric devices in device manager but i can t use it with windows, it doesn t detect it in configuration. is there something i m missing. i know it works because acer bio-protection works but it s a piece of crap and i don t want to use it. is there a way i can get it to work with the windows program?

Hi frazinraf, My name’s Ron and I’m part of the Windows Outreach Team. I’m not tech support, but I think I might be able to point you in the right direction here. First, it’s understandable that not every driver out there will be ready for Windows 7, since it’s still in Beta. Most users have had luck installing Vista drivers for many devices. You might try out this link to the acer driver site: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/as... It’s the FTP, and will download the .zip file. Also, here’s the general link to the Acer support and download center: http://global.acer.com/support/download.... You can bet that more and more drivers will become available for Windows 7 as it moves through the Beta and toward release, so keep your eyes open for more info. Hope this helps a bit, if only to let you know that something will be coming! Cheer, Ron Windows Outreach Team
