The changes in OS are never large enough for a high end computer to be made completely obsolete. If you look at trends of the computer moving from window s 95 up to vista the changes for optimal performance usually doubled that of its last predecessor. Even medium end Xp systems from 4 years ago can run vista. Since your computer is beyond a normal store bought spec i would have to say from a educated point of view yes it can. And should still do it quite well, But as the previous poster said thats something that can change in a instant if they make the OS for a certain CPU or a certain hardware that you don t have. But yeah you should find other things to worry about for the next 3-4 years :-). Cause no matter what to stay current you will want a new computer anyway.
Are you for real? Nobody knows for sure when Windows 7 will be released, the earliest estimates are for LATE 2009 or mid 2010. Even if you bought a new computer now it would be close to 3 years old by then, so find something else to worry about in the meantime and just by a new computer then.
