Windows 7 is running extremely slow on my PC. What am I doing wrong? -

I have just installed Windows 7 Beta 7000 on the following machine, which I use as my media computer: Intel Celeron 2.4GHz 1.25GB RAM 40GB HD nVidia GeForce 6200 256MB AGP Atheros WiFi Windows 7 installs, but anything video intensive makes the system crawl. Turning off Aero helps, but doesn t completely remedy the problem. Full-screen video is out of the question, both YouTube and Windows Media Player. I ran the experience program, but the experience index came back with a shocking 1.3, with 1.3 being the rating of the CPU. The graphics came back around 2.0, which should be enough to run Aero. I know W7 runs great on netbooks with supposedly lower specs. Is the old Celeron simply so old that it s missing an instruction set? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Understand that the current release of Windows 7 is a Beta. This type of issue is sometimes present in the beginning stages of an Operating System Beta versions.

Well......... windows 7 is still beta... it s supposed you should have that kind of problems... try to reinstall maybe it goes well..

I d say re-download it and check your ram.

Intel Celeron sucks, you need more RAM, your HD is probably old as hell and slow, and your graphics card is crap.
