How do i install Ubuntu on Windows 7 beta? -

I have windows 7 beta on my laptop and i want to dual install ubuntu on it. All i could find was how to install windows 7 on ubuntu not ubuntu on 7.

If you have Windows 7 beta Installed, Just Install Ubuntu on another partition.Ubuntu s bootloader should automatically add Windows 7 beta s bootloader. If somehow, You can t boot Windows 7 beta,Follow these steps below in ubuntu: Go Applications gt; Accessories gt; Terminal Enter this command : sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst Now,You have something opened like Notepad Add these lines at the end title windows 7 beta (Loader) root (hd0,0) savedefault makeactive chainloader +1 Where hd0,0 is C partition.if you have Windows installed in D or E. Change it to hd0,1 or hd0,2. p.s You cal always visit ubuntu forums for more help.

you need to make your pc holds more than one operating system and that can be done in many ways ,,, you can use a software called virtual machine to make the pc holds up to 7 operating system in the same time

You don t necessarily install Ubuntu on Windows 7. You would generally run them along side each other. Make sure you have 2 primary partitions, install Windows 7 on partition A and install Ubuntu on Partition B. When powering up your PC, at the boot stage it ll ask which OS you want to boot into.
