Do you think that Windows 7 will be better than Windows Vista? -

I ve been a Windows user my whole life, but I ve heard so many bad things about Vista that I m thinking about switching to Mac OS X. Windows has been trying really hard to change people s opinion about it, and it doesn t seem like they re willing to stop trying to and just fix all the problems with Vista. Does you think that Windows 7 will be better than Vista? I hope it is because I kinda hate Windows now thanks to Vista.

Sadly no one can tell, as Win7 still million miles away, whats more its core-based on Vista so the end result may be just as bad. Yes, OSX is an option but if you are life long Win user, changing platform sometime is not the option, even though I know many moved and happy but they are the average surfing/lettering only users . Linux is a good one if one major manufacture could supply and support it, such as Dell or HP, reason why people dont change is the support of Linux, buying a really fast/flashy looking car is great until you breakdown and find that its easier to find an alien than someone who can fix Linux. Dell still sell XP under the Vista Business licensing, and thats all we buy now, and will do until it stops around end of 2009, by then , may be Linux would mature or OSX gets more killer apps

There s no way to accurately predict if it will be quot;betterquot; by user definition. Microsoft certainly markets everything as quot;betterquot; than the previous version in anything they sell. For the most part, though, details of this product Microsoft is currently keeping the vast majority of it a secret. But there are some visuals out you can view. Have you ever watched CNN when they do the electoral map analysis of the country? He ll grab a state with his hand and then expand it out on the screen. That s how Windows 7 supposedly will be. A quot;touchquot; type of screen in other words.

Well Microsoft I am sure is saying that when it releases it will be the best version of windows ever. Really I think it will be worse than vista. They are practically building off Vista, so I think it will likely need more resources, and be more microsoft garbage. Microsoft said a while back that they wanted to end the PC, and make the Media Center type of computer. Microsoft has no intentions on changing Vista, or Windows 7. They have plans, and they are going to do those plans unless Mac and Linux magically take 50% of their people. WIndows is putting too much into new features, and Media, and not enough into basics (which is what a lot of people want.) I use Linux daily, and occasionally use XP, 2000, and 98SE. I love the windows 98se interface. I hate Vista, and will likely hate windows 7. I will never go back to Windows.

I have vista, and there really isn t anything wrong with it... I like it, I also like XP. You can buy xp for $140 at tigerdirect.com and install it on a new computer if you want... I wouldn t want to spend all that money for a mac when I can get something fairly similar for a lot cheaper. Plus I m just so used to windows, a mac would just be weird....

There is no way of telling, but what you are saying that they dont sell XP computers it untrue. You can still buy OEM copies of XP and install that on your PC. I think if you ve been a long term Windows user you will be dissapointed with a Mac.

You should give Linux a shot. From what I understand, 7 should be more modular, making in more like Linux. Vista s incompatibilities are annoying, but if you have a 4GB machine, it ll run pretty smoothly. Just don t get the 64-bit edition.

Give Vista a try. It really is a very good operating system. It s finished all its growing pains and is now more stable than OSX by my experience. And it s a lot easier to use than XP. Give it a try and I guarantee you ll like it.

I still use XP Pro becuase I think Vista is really terrible. Windows 7 can t possibly be any worse than Vista! :)

I ******* swear to god all of these screenshots for their new milestone look nothing different than Vista. Microsoft has run out of ideas. They are putting old ones for work.

Haven t heard of 7 yet. Need to get out more. Wont use Vista

what the hell is windows 7?? I ve never heard of it..
